Janet Penn is an author, historian, and photographer who specializes in writing about and photographing California’s central coast. She has published several website pieces and numerous magazine articles on Central Coast architecture and history and is the author of three nonfiction books: Santa Barbara County Wineries (Central Coast Press, 2007), San Luis Obispo County Wineries (Central Coast Press, 2005), and San Luis Obispo: A History in Architecture (Arcadia Publishing, 2004), which inspired her to write Silver Harvest, her first novel. Janet earned a degree in art history from the University of California, Irvine and is the mother of two grown children. After living in San Luis Obispo for many years, she now resides in Northern California.
